Out of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), De-Ice has developed and patented a novel method for electrically heating materials that have otherwise been very difficult to heat. De-Ice is first applying this technology to on-ground aircraft de-icing to eliminate chemical spraying and the associated departure delays. The company will then apply its technology to other applications such as wind turbines.
